If you want to search for a certain topic, subject, location, content, or people you need to use a search tool. Say for instance that you want to find information on a subject of interest. You would first find a search tool probable a subject directory. There are quite a few WWW services that you can us. You can type in the name of on of these services and then go to that sight. One of the ones I use to find a topic is Yahoo.
To get into Yahoo you type www.Yahoo.com there will be places to put your topic then hit enter. Scrolling down you can browse WebPages that are related to your topic but you must be very particular because there is so many different meanings to some words. You might be looking for information about cars and up pops a music page with a CD for the band.
Since sifting through WebPages can be time consuming task when you just want to find a nice WebPages being specific will help to find you subject faster. Say you are looking a picture of and actor for a paper. To cut down the search try to include information that would help to cut down and find documents faster. To find out information about Adam Sandler you could list off a few of his movies such as Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore.
If you are looking for information on the newest Steven King book then you would put in the title and the name of the author.
To find a location you need to enter into the search tools of location maps and directories. A possible service for that is the WebPages 411 locate. Seeing as how there are many towns with the same name you must be specific about Country, State, or even county.
There are so many people on the internet it might be hard to find a someone you knew in first grade so you need a people search tool. Many of the subject services also have yellow pages so that you can search for a person. By entering Name, Address (email and home), birthday or zip code.
